Associate System Engineer
Purpose
We are looking for a talented, diligent Associate system Engineer to maintain and administer our on-premises and cloud infra. This position is responsible for assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems. Perform routine system updates, patches, and upgrades. Also monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Job Summary:
· Assist in maintaining essential IT operations ,Network infrastructure, Servers and Storage, Virtualization including operating systems, O365 systems.
· To help deliver a high standard of service by providing solutions to user’s requests and prioritizing tasks accordingly.
· To assist the wider ICT System Engineering team with task, assignments related project work where feasible.
· Escalation point for any ticket\request from L1\L2 Support team.
Primary Responsibilities-
· Assist in maintaining essential IT operations ,Network infrastructure, Servers and Storage, Virtualization including operating systems, O365 systems.
· Troubleshoot and maintenance of business systems, including servers, operating systems, Servers and Storage, Virtualization and network environments.
· Install computer components and software, assist in managing virtual environments.
· Troubleshoot Network, hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
· Perform or verify periodic backup and restoration operations and disaster recovery.
· Proactively monitor system performance.
· Coordinates the periodic maintenance of System updates.
· Next level support for Helpdesk team to support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and
related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
· Perform patching for Windows, Linux and other operating systems and third party components.
· To be responsive to reasonable requests from your line manager
· General implementation, configuration and support of the ICT function and systems on a day-to-day basis. This will include but is not limited to the following.
o To be responsible for the administration of all incidents raised with the ICT System Engineering queue.
o To establish and maintain high levels of incident ownership - resolving, progressing, and managing all calls to a satisfactory conclusion on the ICT incident management system, ensuring that appropriate parties (including the end user) are kept up to date on incident progress.
o To attend emergency visits potentially at short notice on site at all CliniSys offices as instructed, completing tasks as detailed by the IT manager.
Skills needed to be successful.
· Troubleshooting workflow and knowledge of troubleshooting tools.
· Good understanding of networking knowledge. Detailed understanding of IP addressing.
· Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
· Working knowledge on virtualization technologies like VMWare and Microsoft Hyper.
· Knowledge of backup and restoration.
· Good communication and documentation skills.
· Adaptability / flexible to changing demands with the ability and willingness to work independently.
Required Experience & Education
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information systems or related field.
· Three plus years experience within an ICT or software providers organisation..
· Hands on knowledge on Server OS, VMWare and O365
· Microsoft Certified Professional, or equivalent or efforts towards such qualifications are additional plus.
· Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above
