Role Description:

As a Sr. Manager, you will oversee development managers and work with cross-functional teams to build and deliver high quality software for laboratories and hospitals. You will utilize your management, engineering, and working knowledge of bioinformatics or genetics to help drive the strategic vision, innovation and execution of our products in order to meet/exceed the department and company’s business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Works with development managers to oversee the development of strategic products and ensure adequate resource availability, the use of appropriate technology, upholding of quality standards, and on-time delivery of software releases.
• Challenges the product development teams to ensure that the appropriate strategic, technical and tactical solutions are being implemented.
• Involved in project intake triaging relating to additional requests and initiatives to determine the impact, prioritization and need.
• Ensure that activities comply with departmental development methodologies as well as regulatory and quality standards.
• Develops and utilizes supporting metrics to show status, drive decisions, and identify risk.
• Works with internal partners as well as clients and vendors to coordinate, facilitate and resolve issues relating to products in development as well as those in use.
•  Facilitates communication upward and across teams to call out and resolve blocking issues.
• Provides direct reports on ongoing development, feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
• Provides oversight responsibility for all aspects of interviewing, hiring, training, and mentoring/coaching, including functional mentorship, follow-through and performance management.
• Meet schedules on time and with quality by communicating and mitigating risks in a timely manner.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Leading teams through cloud transformations or hands-on experience working with cloud technologies.
• Master’s degree in in Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written English
• Good knowledge of Dutch and French is a plus
• A minimum of 8 years of software development experience with proven success at leading or managing major projects and meeting deliverable deadlines at measurable levels of quality.
• Minimum of 4 years management experience with responsibilities including leading, coaching, and developing both managers and staff.
