Role Description:
Technical Consultant will work within the Delivery environment organising and overseeing all customer based IT implementations, developing quality processes and documentation for installation to satisfy the customer and business requirements.
They will work within the Service environment organising and overseeing all customer
based IT activities, developing quality processes for finding and resolving incidents
and problems to meet defined Service Level Agreements to satisfy the customer and
business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- To work with and follow the guidance of the Technical Services Team leader and departmental Manager.
- To comply with the CliniSys codes of conduct and guidelines.
- Work with project managers to help plan self and team activities.
- To act on a consultancy basis for completing any pre-sales requirements.
- To work within a delivery environment completing required customer based IT implementation project work. (On-prem / Cloud / Hosted deployments).
- To work within the Service environment organising and overseeing all customer based IT activities. This may include but is not limited to: -
- Assist with / review / management of network infrastructure issues including network design and configuration.
- Assist with / review / management of hardware platform issues including SAN/Cluster configuration
- Assist with / review / management of general infrastructure issues including networking, backups, VMWare/Hyper V, OS issues, Azure etc.
- To act on a consultancy basis with all internal teams to aid with all site-related technical issues and incidents.
- To ensure relevant technical documentation is completed/updated for all internal teams and customers as required.
- To maintain and update all quality documentation issued to you by the company
- To partake in the training of clients and other members of staff as and when required
- Participate in an on call rota both in a standard and escalatory role.
- Travel / work away from home on occasion.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience and good knowledge of working with AZURE ADO to deploy software via pipelines. Requires excellent scripting skills, primarily in YAML and PowerShell.
- Software Deployment automation (Off the shelf and bespoke)- Develop, Maintain, manage and deploy software via automation wherever possible - Wintel (Linux skills would be useful). Requires advanced knowledge of PowerShell.
- Ability and experience to analyse and diagnose infrastructure related issues - Networking / Storage / Virtualisation / Connectivity / Web services (IIS / Tomcat) / Windows server / AD / AV / Security / AZURE.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. With experience in producing and delivering professional levels of technical documentation including – Training guides / HLD / LLD / Diagrams / DR plans.
- Experienced at working within the ITIL framework, any experience in other standards such as Agile / Prince 2 / DevOps would be advantageous.
- Ability to provide escalatory support, via service desk escalation, for our customer base. As well as supporting internal departments and pre-sales enquiries.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Minimum two years’ experience within an IT environment
- Microsoft Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Software Engineer qualifications (or equivalent).
