Role Description:
A detail-oriented and analytical Product Analyst to work as part of the European and US Product Management team. The candidate will be responsible for analysing product requirements for the next generation LIMS functionality, documenting detailed features, benchmarking existing product designs and workflows, and identifying non-functional requirements. This role will serve as a product and laboratory discipline subject matter expert for various stakeholders, prioritising and driving work through the engineering teams, to help ensure we deliver successful releases on time and on budget, that align with the product and business strategy and goals. Additionally, the Product Analyst will also perform regulatory analysis and compliance tracking and support sales and new bid initiatives. Specific focus areas for this role initially are UK & Ireland clinical pathology, anatomic pathology and genomics, as well as Blood Bank / Transfusion requirements for all relevant markets globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with SMEs, stakeholders and customers to gather and analyse product requirements, ensuring they align with business objectives and user needs.
- Documentation of Detailed Features: Create comprehensive documentation of product features, use cases and where necessary functional specifications. Assist the Requirements Engineers with clarity on the user stories and provide a level of sign off on features once they are developed.
- Artificial Intelligence: Apply generative and agentic AI tools to streamline the product definition lifecycle—crafting clear user stories and documentation, automating repetitive tasks like backlog grooming and stakeholder updates, and continuously optimizing workflows through AI-driven insights to accelerate healthcare software delivery.
- Benchmarking: Conduct benchmarking of existing product designs, capabilities, and performance against industry standards and competitors.
- Non-Functional Requirements Management: Identify, document, and manage non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and security.
- Regulatory Analysis and Compliance Tracking: Work closely with the QARA team to monitor and analyse regulatory requirements, ensuring product compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a stand-in for the Product Manager, acting as a discipline subject matter expert for Requirements Engineer(s), UX designer(s) and the development teams.
- Sales and New Bid Support: Provide support for sales and new bid initiatives by reviewing RFP / tender requirements and working closely with the Product Manager in providing feedback on timing and strategic alignment.
- Backlog Refinement: Maintain and groom features in a prioritised backlog ready for positioning into a product release, recognising the importance of delivery dependencies, timing, risk management and demonstrability.
- Release Scoping: Assist the Product Manager in scoping and planning successive product releases that incrementally deliver value to customers, forming the product roadmap.
- Manage Expectations: Confirm and manage customer and internal SME expectations to ensure release viability whilst minimizing scope creep.
- Voice of Customer (VOC): Assist the Product Manager in understanding and representing the voice of the customer internally, and to provide a business perspective on value. The postholder will be required to frequently travel to customer sites and build up a customer network they can use to better understand requirements and to test design hypotheses.
- Leadership: Orchestrate, inspire and challenge the multidisciplinary product sprint team (engineering, product management, domain experts and UX design) to raise the bar in creating high-quality, world-class software.
- 3rd Party Development Collaboration: Co-ordinate 3rd party system integrators to drive process according to release schedules.
- SDLC Materials: Prepare and present material for the key milestones of the Clinisys Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to the wider stakeholder group. This includes key performance metrics for Product leadership on the delivery and benefits of each iteration, as well as demos and training as required.
- Product Management Function Consultancy and Support: Assist Product Manager in performing and documenting market and customer research.
